“What we liked about it: I tried the cayenne cinnamon and the coconut almond bars. They are covered with a creamy chocolate, quite dense, crunchy and have a distinctive taste, perhaps due to the quinoa. The cayenne cinnamon was my favorite because of its slight “bite” and pleasing cinnamon flavor. The coconut almond was fairly good, but I’m not a coconut fan. These are definitely healthier than a regular candy bar and are good sources of fiber and protein from quinoa and not too much sugar….”

Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) cooks like a grain, but botanically it’s not actually a cereal grass like wheat or barley or oats. It’s technically a seed, and often called a pseudo-grain.
