* Looking to look a little leaner, feel a little better? Forget yoga apparently, and just move
close to a farmers’ market. This infographic suggests that you might want to live near a farmer’s market. It turns out that lower BMI (Body Mass Index) is linked to farmer’s market availability and fruit consumption.
* Oprah’s going vegan! For a week any way. Oprah’s “Vegan Challenge” special encouraged 378 Harpo staffers to join for the seven-day experiment.
* We were very inspired by this TED talk by Bruce Feiler. Diagnosed with cancer, Bruce worried first about his young family. So – as he shares in this funny, rambling and ultimately thoughtful talk – he asked his closest friends to become a “council of dads,” bringing their own lifetimes of wisdom to advise his twin daughters as they grow.
* Recently baring his yoga body for UK Cosmopolitan Magazine to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer, Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine touted the effects of yoga: “When I started practicing I instantly felt more sculpted. Yoga carves you into a different person—and that is satisfying physically… I had been lifting weights for years. After our first yoga session, I vowed never to lift another weight again.
