Practice Yoga While Traveling, Ride Your Bike for Weightloss and Solar Panels on the White House

* If just the thought of being stuck at the airport has you breaking out in hives, you should try a little downward facing dog next time you’re stuck. And if you’re ever stuck in the Detroit Metropolitan Airport check out their marked one-mile walking trail on the airport grounds, or their Reflection Rooms (located in both main terminals) where you can practice yoga, meditate, or just take a breath. Not half bad!
* Having a little trouble catching some zzzz’s? We love R.R. Shakti’s sleepytime yoga sequence that will lead you right into a nice eight-hour savasana. Isn’t that what we’re all desiring at the end of a yoga class anyway? She also suggests creating a sleep ritual, and drinking some warm milk before bed.
* Another reason to ride yo’ bike – you’ll keep the pounds at bay. A recent study shows that biking just five minutes a day can help you to maintain a healthy weight.
* Check out this new must-see film produced by animal-loving Jessica Biel, “Hole in the Paper Sky.” Just 33 minutes long and $1.99 on iTunes, this short-but-sweet film about animal testing is really impactful. But don’t take our word for it; check it out for yourself.
* Daryl Hannah has a message for President Obama : “I’m pleased about the organic vegetable patch on the White House lawn, but Obama needs to put back the solar panels on the roof; Jimmy Carter put them up, Reagan took them down, and now it’s time they were reinstated.” We had no idea, but we agree Daryl!!
