YogaEarth Launches Initiative with Y.O.G.A. for Youth

Krishna Kaur
has a long and distinguished record of serving others. She has been teaching Kundalini yoga since 1970.  For decades she has braved South Central Los Angeles’ most severe neighborhoods, drug rehab centers and jails.  Youth “at-risk” indeed.  How could they not be in such surroundings?

Y.O.G.A. for Youth was founded by Krishna in 1993.  As she tells it, the organization was formed to provide youth with tools through the practice of yoga to elevate their lives.  Beyond circumstance and beyond challenge.  More yoga for more youth.  More tools, opportunity and a powerful lever for success for youth.  Sounds pretty darn good to us.

We at YogaEarth have been enraptured by Krishna’s infectious smile, passion and sense of mission at Y4Y.  Her courage and determination are as boundless as her energy.  You’ll find her alternately in Mexico, Los Angeles, the North and Southeast, and Europe spreading the good word on yoga for youth.

YogaEarth is launching an initiative this summer to support Y.O.G.A. for Youth and Krishna.  We will be announcing soon a special selection of nutrition products that will send nearly 20% of sales to supporting this spectacular cause.  Immediate contributions to Y.O.G.A. for Youth are warmly accepted at:  http://www.yogaforyouth.org/about.php.

Stay tuned this summer to hear about YogaEarth’s new philanthropic partnership with Off the Mat and Into the World, the pioneering social activism network founded by Seane Corn, Hala Khouri and Suzanne Sterling.
